As far as New Years Resolutions go, number one is a given: I will survive.
However, it’s a bit solemn and I feel the need to inject some whimsy and wild impracticality as well. So, here we go:
In 2013 I also resolve to:
1. Ride an elephant
2. Travel to Iceland
3. Stargaze on a clear night in the desert
4. Attend an opera
5. Swim in a warm ocean (hello equator!)
And you? What are your intentions and/or planned adventures for 2013?

Anja—maybe we could make this happen! When I flew to France in 1979 (for a semester abroad), we had a layover in Iceland. I washed up in the restroom and bought a sweater, and have wanted to go back since (it was so beautiful from the air). Plans to be made!
